Khasab is a city in exclave of Oman bordering the United Arab Emirates. It is the local capital of the Musandam Peninsula and has frequently been named as the”Norway of Arabia” because of its extensive fjord-like craggy inlets and jaw dropping landscapes.
Musandam has one of the most breathtaking, dramatic landscapes in the world, with the northern Hajjar mountain range dropping vertically into the sea. The rugged “Fjord-like” coastline is dotted with hidden coastal villages, rich in long-standing history and traditions in dhow building and fishing.
Surrounded by the warm waters of the Indian Ocean and Gulf of Oman, Musandam has on of the widest bio-diversities of marine life in the world. The unique deep drops-offs and cool water upwelling provide an abundance of plankton, making this a rich feeding ground for a huge variety of marine life and coral gardens.
Musandam discovery diving is a small dive centre, owned by a local Omani called Bader Shehi who has always had a passion for the ocean and founded Musandam discovery diving in 2015 to share is passion for the surrounding waters of his hometown Khasab. With the support of his multinational team who aims to leave everyone with an unforgettable experience. Along side our dive centre we also have a volunteer team of locals who help maintain the beautiful waters of Khasab.
