Conservation

Conservation team

Our local team of volunteer divers strive to protect and preserve our surrounding waters while also educating the next generation of Khasab, Musandam.
The team aim to educate the general public to help protect our marine life and beautiful coral reefs.

Clean ups

The team are responsible for ensuring any rubbish that is reported at our dive sites are cleaned as soon as possible. If the dive centres staff report any major objects found during their dive the experienced team will assist as soon as possible to remove the objects such as fishing nets to ensure the corals and marine life are protected.

Education

The team believe that education for the next generation plays a huge part in marine conservation. Giving children a taste of scuba diving helps them understand what they are protecting. If the children can see what is under the waves they are more likely to want to help the marine environment in the surrounding waters of their homes.

Coral Transplant

The most recent project the local volunteer team have been working on is the coral transplant at one of our closest dive sites ‘Humsi wreck’. The aim of this project is to form an artificial reef at the dive site for everyone to enjoy as well as the wreck.
