Diving courses

Surrounded by the warm waters of the Indian Ocean and Gulf of Oman, Musandam has one of the widest bio-diversities of marine life in the world. The unique deep drops-offs and cool water upwelling provide an abundance of plankton, making this a rich feeding ground for a huge variety of marine life and coral gardens

Open water course

The Open Water course includes 5 online theory modules and an exam. The 5 modules need to be completed before the practical side of the course can be started, however the exam can be done last. The practical includes a pool session with an instructor who will introduce the student to the gear used, how to use it and teach fundamental scuba skills and underwater communication. After the pool is completed, 4 ocean dives will take place over 2 days with an instructor, who will do more skills and ensure the student has met all course requirements. Once all the theory and practical are completed, the student will be certified as an Open Water Diver. This certification means one can dive down to a maximum of 18 meters.
Please note: There is a medical questionnaire that needs to be completed to ensure that it is safe for the student to dive, and an ability to swim is a prerequisite for the course.
